Housing sales in towns around Chattanooga, Tennessee are slowing down with the cooling weather, but local Realtors report that sales aren't slow in every price range.

"October is here and the real estate market is slowing down somewhat as it always does in colder weather months," says Realtor Gail Waldrof. "However, in part because of the continuing low interest rates, there are still more buyers looking to purchase than sellers wanting to sell. Properties that are in average-to-good condition and priced correctly from the day they are listed tend to go very quickly for full or close-to-full price. If you are considering selling your home, this is the ideal time to do so, because your home won't have as much competition as it does in warmer weather."

Say Realtors Sheila Ann Shipley and Aaron Shipley, "The economy is on the move, however the housing market is as crazy as ever. It is a buyer's market and a seller's market. Under the 150K range, inventory is tight and limited. When you go over this it appears that there is an abundance in certain areas. This more than ever is why it is important to have a good agent, especially one with a team and experienced mortgage agents on staff."

Realtor Margaret Adams says, "Lots of homes are on the active market and lots of buyers in this market as well. Buyers have the best of all worlds with a good inventory and low, low interest rates. With the rise in interest rates, buyers are trying to tie into lower rates as soon as possible thus making the inventory of homes less. There are so many financing opportunities available for every person interested in being a homeowner. Credit, downpayment, closing costs no longer keep people from purchasing homes. Condition, price and location are what buyers are looking for. Rates may never be this low again!"
