Boise, Idaho Realtors Report Rising Housing Market

Situated in a valley between two mountain ranges, Boise, Idaho offers a wealth of outdoor recreational opportunity, which contributes strongly to the housing market, say local Realtors.

"The home sales market for Boise is still going strong," says Realtor Linda Hilton. "Sellers and buyers both have an advantage with many people upgrading to bigger homes or purchasing a new construction home. With interest rates still low, the first-time home buyer can stop paying rent and reap the rewards of home ownership."

Says Realtor Raylene Kinyon, "Along with fall and cool weather arriving, so are newcomers and move-up buyers. There is hardly anything available in Boise City between $300,000 and $400,000, but there are still lots for new construction in Eagle, Meridian and some other rural Ada County areas. The brisk market in Boise and surrounding areas can be attributed to low interest rates and a good economic outlook for the area. There is still a steady stream of incoming buyers from surrounding states. The third quarter has proven to be the best so far this year."

"The Historic North End and both sides of the river in northeast and southeast Boise continue to be the highest areas of appreciation, the lowest supply of inventory and the highest demand for real estate in the entire valley," says Realtor Dale Alverson. "These prime areas of the valley offer the shortest commutes, the most parks, and closest access to the river, greenbelt, downtown and Boise airport. These areas also boast some of the most prestigious planned developments found in the state."
