Dallas' Park Cities Realtors Anticipate Another Great Year In Housing

Home sales continue to be brisk in University and Highland Park, known colloquially as the Park Cities, twin townships in the center of Dallas, Texas. Local Realtors, in the wake of improved economic news, anticipate a good spring homeselling season.

"We anticipate another great year in the Park Cities," says Realtor Nora Ling Lane. "January brings everyone out of the woodwork. This area is still one of the most desired locations in Dallas. With interest rates still very attractive, sales are spotty, but there has been a surge of homes selling over $1,000,000. Much of the activity is from out of town buyers! Homes that are priced right are selling and the interest rates are still too good to pass up. Prime locations are moving faster than properties with adverse conditions as is typical in this kind of market."

Lane explains, "University Park is a unique locale. Coupled with Highland Park, these two areas are still one of the most desired locations in Dallas because of the wonderful school district. Consumer confidence is stable. There is a great supply of homes to choose from in most price ranges. It's a great time for buyers to take advantage of this traditionally slow time of year and the low interest rates. There is an abundance of homes on the market in the $1,000,000 + price range. Great choices!"

Says Realtor Blake Eltis, "January is typically one of the best months for the residential real estate market. Sales are picking up. Homes in prime locations are still selling faster. There is a large supply of homes on the market. Interest rates remain at a 30-year low. Sellers are being more realistic. Now is a good time to buy as long as you do not pay top dollar for it. Do your homework, learn about the neighborhood, and offer a fair price."

Eltis advises, "People are still relocating to Dallas everyday. Here are some little known facts about Dallas: Dallas is home to over 6,000 corporate headquarters and six of them are Fortune 500 companies. Dallas also has one of the largest employment centers in the U.S. for high technology. The city also features the world's largest wholesale trade complex -- the Dallas Market Center."

"From charming cottages to the finest mansions in Dallas," says Realtor Sue Krider, "this area is renowned for the value of its real estate. The Park Cities is comprised of an exemplary school system. Conveniently located near downtown, major airports, shopping, and the arts this area has it all!"
