While the Houston, Texas market continues to break sales records, suburbs like Sugar Land reported slower sales for the holidays, but local Realtors anticipate a busy spring.
"Sugar Land, located in Fort Bend County is just a two-step away from Houston," says Realtor Gayle Daniel. "If you are looking for a planned development community full of amenities look no further. Housing ranges from the low $100's up to a million plus. Some areas have increased in value over 15 percent in the last two years."
Says Realtor Scott Moritz, "The areas southwest of Houston, TX known as Fort Bend County includes several cities and as well several different school districts. The cities include: Sugar Land, Missouri City, Stafford, Richmond, Rosenberg, etc. The area has plenty of shopping, restaurants, movie theaters, recreation, etc."
Moritz advises, "Over the past few years, prices have been following an upward trend. With the First Colony mall completed and the opening of the Sugar Land Town Square, there is plenty of room for commercial growth. The Fort Bend area is strong option for people working in the Houston area, and will continue to stay fairly active even through the normal up and down market cycles. New home space is becoming sparse as building continues. Resales are becoming more of an option as location becomes more of an issue. Sales slowed for the holidays, which is normal for this time of year. The real estate market appears to have plenty of inventory, but interest rates are climbing slightly."
"Houston's existing home market continues to grow," says Realtor Paula DAmico Auger. "November was the seventh consecutive month that home sales broke monthly records,"
