"With interest rates at their lowest, buyers are lining up causing a low number of listings," says Realtor Dennis Hitch, "This is a great time if you are considering selling your home. From Salisbury to Ocean City this is the best of the Eastern Shore."

Says Realtor Imad Elali, "The value of resort properties is still on the rise, so 2004 has been absolutely wonderful so far as the real estate market is more active than ever. I watch the market updates several times a day and don't see any signs of slowing down or any decrease in the value of resort or primary residence properties on the Eastern Shore of Maryland."

He advises, "We have seen a substantial increase in inventory since last year. This increase reached up to 50 percent in some areas. The market is still extremely active and the value of home is still on the rise."

Southern Maryland

"Southern Maryland is located southeast of the DC Metro Area, and includes Prince Georges, Charles, Saint Marys and Calvert Counties," explains Realtor Carlos Gautier. "The west boundary is the Potomac River, east boundary is the Chesapeake Bay, and it is north of Virginia's King George County."

Gautier says, "Southern Maryland is rich in history and character. There are reasonably priced waterfront properties, lower than most all of the Metro area. There are planned communities, farmlands, large estates, and many different new neighborhoods being constructed. It's a great location for those who'd like the quieter living or the spacious country setting to live and have just a short commute to the city, shopping, our waterfront, parks, or entertainment…."

He advises, "Southern Maryland has attracted home shoppers who are looking for the best values in home sales. Southern Maryland home shoppers have found that their money will get more home and property, along with paying less for property taxes than most of the neighboring areas. Southern Maryland's market trend has been very strong for property owners. The cost of living in Southern Maryland being lower than most all of the Metro area, affords its residents to live more comfortably. Come and see what Southern Maryland has to offer you."
