Texas real estate professionals are reporting great interest in waterfront properties on the Gulf and around area lakes.
Rockport
"The market conditions for Rockport and surrounding areas are booming," says Realtor Mary Gilletti. "We have new businesses opening almost weekly. A new store called "Shop the World" opened the first week of May. "Always a Dollar," and "Dollar General," opened several weeks ago. Walgreen's and American Bank will be opening by month's end.
She explains, "Business is doing well. The housing industry is also showing signs of growth. With waterfront lots selling like hot cakes, we will be getting new canal front homes. The Country Club is experiencing growth as well. If you haven't been to Rockport, Texas, lately, you owe it to yourself to come and visit. Reacquaint yourself with our peaceful community. Summer is a great time to vacation here. Check out the Chamber of Commerce site for the list of festivals that will be occurring this summer. Come visit. Plan to stay."
Corpus Christi
Says mortgage broker William Taylor, "Mortgage rates are going up in this sector with ARMS leading the way. Record home sales for the first quarter. Fixed rates rose in April, to mid five percent range and we can hope they stay there until end of summer. The FED raised the benchmark U.S. interest rate a .250 to 6.0 percent and declared to make further increases."
Toledo Bend
"Just minutes from Toledo Bend Lake and reservoir, with great fishing and boating," says Realtor Evelyn Kilgore, "waterfront properties are getting scarce on Toledo Bend Lake, so if you're planning on buying, you should start looking now. We have access to all types of properties near, and around, Toledo Bend Lake. We are so confident that you will be impressed with our area, that we can even sell you a Texas fishing and/or hunting license."
