Treasure Valley: Boise, Idaho

"The word is out and strong national attention to the excellent quality of life in Boise and surrounding areas of Idaho have prompted a significant increase in home sales! Although home prices are increasing, overall home values remain excellent. The market is moving quickly, buyers need to work with their agent to get educated on the market and be ready to respond immediately when they locate a home to purchase," note Realtors Sue and Rich Zabel.

She continues, "As a native of Boise I can truly say it is a wonderful place to live and raise a family. Boise is located in the heart of the "Treasure Valley." We are located in the high desert of Southern Idaho where we only receive 12 inches of rain annually and 21 inches of snow (one inch at a time)and we're only 30 minutes from skiing, fishing & white water rafting! 2005 has seen a population of 185,787 and an average home price of $204,803."

"Boise is expected to double in size in 8 to 10 years! According to a forecast prepared by Thredgold Economic Consultants, Idaho housing values will continue to rise for the next 2 years," says Realtor Roxanne Franklin. "This spring Forbes magazine named Boise as the #1 location for business and careers. A recent quote from The Idaho Statesman noted, "People relocating to the Treasure Valley outnumbered those leaving the region last year, with the margin of increase mirroring the state's improving economy. Experts attribute the higher inbound migration rate to an improving job market that generated 10,700 new jobs in the Treasure Valley last year, or 64 percent of the 17,600 jobs created statewide." The Treasure Valley offers all the amenities available in major cities with the small town quality of life."

She adds, "The Boise River flows through the greater Boise area, we call the Treasure Valley. Boise is flanked by several smaller cities, but we are a large and growing community who has managed to retain the small community spirit."

Says Realtor Rany McLaughlin, "Boise is still a great market! Inventory shortages are causing prices to increase quickly but values remain good. Most importantly Boise is a wonderful place to live. Not only was it voted the #1 place to do business by Forbes magazine but it also has a great downtown scene. The Boise river runs right by downtown, the foothills are minutes away and have numerous hiking and mountain biking trails and fishing, hunting, boating, waterskiing, snowskiing and many other outdoor activities are all within an hour. Now is the time to invest in this town."
