Chicago has seen its housing market slow this summer, with fewer single family and condo sales.
As a result, the inventory is growing. The average market time for a condo at this time is a lengthy 192 days.
The average condo is selling for around $259,000. Overall, the median home price for Chicago has risen 1.7 percent from last year.
One local expert notes, "Developers are being forced to offer big incentives to attract buyers and resale properties are being forced to lower their prices and expectations if their property has not sold quickly."
