Dallas expert Ken Lampton is reporting that "for home buyers who have the nerve to shop when others have gone to the sideline, the next few months present a rare opportunity to buy for less."
He notes that the credit conditions seen in much of the nation are in fact having an impact in Dallas. This is making a "normal season slowdown worse than usual."
Jo Pressly, however, notes that in the Golden Corridor area of Dallas -- North of the LBJ High Five, and South of the George Bush intersection -- homes in this area always suffer less of a downswing in value and in selling time. Many homes are being torn down and replaced with new construction due to size of lots.
