NARdiGras 2010, held November 5-8 in New Orleans, is just around the corner, and this year leaders and experts from across the industry will be discussing the difficulties facing today's real estate market.

The annual REALTORS® Conference & Expo will address some of the hot button issues affecting the market, including the future of mortgage financing, the impact of improper foreclosure procedures on the housing market, and the possible influence of midterm elections.

A highlight of the event is a press conference on Friday at 10 a.m. held by 2011 NAR President Ron Phipps. He will be discussing the activities, initiatives, and programs the National Association of Realtors have planned in order to help ensure public policies that promote responsible, sustainable homeownership.

Following that session will be a housing and economic forecast by NAR Chief Economist, Lawrence Yun. In this session, findings will also be presented from the 2010 Home Buyer and Seller Profile. The next day Mr. Yun will focus on the how the economy is affecting the commercial real estate market.

On Saturday, Nov. 6 from 1:30-3 p.m., just days after the midterm elections, Tucker Carlson, Fox News contributor and editor-in-chief of The Daily Caller, will join Paul Begala, CNN commentator and former presidential campaign strategist, to examine the outcome of the elections and analyze how these outcomes may affect the real estate industry.

Other issues that will be discussed at the conference include demographic trends, motivations, and behavior patterns among recent home buyers and sellers.

According the NAR, "Knowledge is power -- and during uncertain economic times, it's the difference between success and muddling through."
