MRIS Enters Strategic Alliance with Authentisign for Digital Signatures

Phoenix, AZ – March 9, 2011 – Instanet Solutions announced today that AuthentisignTM, an integrated digital signature platform, has been selected by MRIS as the ESIGN product-of-choice. As the largest Multiple Listing Service in North America, MRIS serves nearly 50,000 REALTORS® and drives an average of $97 million in real estate property sales in the mid-Atlantic region every day.

“We are thrilled to be working with MRIS, a widely recognized technology leader in the real estate industry. Authentisign will enable MRIS’ subscribers to easily and securely distribute contract documents to buyers and sellers for electronic signing,” according to Martin Scrocchi, Instanet Solutions CEO. “The idea is to truly make the entire real estate transaction easy for the Agent (and their customers) and with far less paper.”

John L. Heithaus, MRIS Chief Marketing Officer added, “We were seeking an E-Signature tool that was simple to use, compliant with federal laws governing electronic signatures, and one that could easily be integrated into third party forms and applications already in use by MRIS customers. Authentisign will clearly improve and facilitate the document signing process, and this will free our customers to redirect the time saved to more profitable activities, such as business development. MRIS “Gen M” strategy is built on collaborative strategic alliances and we think Instanet will prove to be a perfect fit in our culture driven by innovation and customer service.” Heithaus added: “MRIS plans to work closely with our 25 Shareholder Associations and large real estate brokers to facilitate the transition and adoption of this great tool.”

More than ten years ago, the ESIGN law was enacted when then U.S. President Clinton signed the E- Signature bill giving the same legal validity to an electronic signature as a signature in pen and ink. As REALTORS® and consumers become increasingly comfortable with the security and authenticity of digital signatures, MLSs and Associations are rapidly embracing this technology.
