Real Estate Update Auto-Emailer Information

  1. Can I enter in all my e-mail addresses at once?
Yes. You can use the Bulk Upload feature in your Auto-Emailer Control Panel to upload a file of e-mail addresses to our system. You also have the option to add subscribers individually.

  2. How does the Bulk Upload feature work?
You will first need to export your e-mail addresses from your e-mail program. We require only the e-mail address for each subscriber, the first and last names are optional. The file you create in the export process should have the e-mail address, first name (optional), and last name (optional), in three separate fields. The file can be any one of the following types: text (.txt), comma separated values (.csv), or excel (.xls). After you have exported your e-mail addresses, you will click on "Upload Subscriber List" in your Control Panel. You will now find the file you created on your computer by selecting "Browse". Lastly, you will need to specify whether you want the newsletter sent immediately or whether you prefer to wait until the next scheduled mailing to go out.

  3. Is there a limit to the number of addresses I can input?
Yes, you are currently limited to 5,000 addresses.

  4. When exactly will the newsletter be sent out to my newsletter group?
The default send date for your newsletter will always be the 4th of the month. You do, however, have the option to specify when you want your newsletter to go out.
Important: Any changes to your newsletter must be completed by 12:00 AM EST on the evening prior to your scheduled sending date.

  5. Is the newsletter sent as a text or HTML message?
You have three methods for sending your newsletter: Text-Only, HTML, or Auto-Detect. We recommend using the default setting, Auto-Detect, because not all e-mail programs are capable of reading HTML e-mails. If you select Auto-Detect as the method of sending your newsletter, those subscribers whose e-mail program is capable of reading HTML e-mail will receive the HTML version of your newsletter. This means that there is no text message and no link to click on. When the subscriber clicks on the subject of your e-mail to open it, the newsletter opens automatically. Those subscribers who are not capable of receiving HTML e-mail will get the text-only version of your newsletter. The message is a standard Realty Times greeting, similar to the one we include in your monthly newsletter notification e-mail. They will simply click on the link that is included in the e-mail to open your newsletter.
Note: The system must send a text-only message for the initial e-mail to each new subscriber. Once the subscriber has clicked on the link to your newsletter, our system will be notified with this subscriber's e-mail settings. From that point on, they will receive the appropriate version of your newsletter. If you choose not to use the Auto-Detect feature, you can force your newsletter to be sent as text-only or HTML.

  6. Can I modify the text message and subject line of the e-mail?
You currently have the option to modify the subject line of your newsletter e-mail. You do not, however, have the capability to edit the message that goes out to your text-only subscribers.

  7. Are my e-mail addresses available to other companies/individuals?
No. Your e-mail addresses are kept strictly confidential and are not shared by any other third parties or individuals.

  8. Will I be able to tell who opens my newsletter?
Yes. This information is available through your password protected Control Panel.

  9. Can I edit my contact's info whenever I need to?
Yes. You will have access to your contacts just like you have access to your other features -- 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  10. Can I export my list of subscribers?
Yes. You have the ability to export your subscriber list as a text (.txt) file.

  11. If someone unsubscribes... are they removed from my list automatically?
Yes. You will see the word "Unsubscribed" below the e-mail address in your Control Panel. You do not have to remove the address, they will no longer receive your newsletter. We simply leave the address on file in case you need it in the future. There is no need to delete the "Unsubscribed" e-mail addresses from your Control Panel.
