Your Home Buying Squad!

Written by Posted On Sunday, 14 January 2018 05:13

Your home is probably the biggest investment you will make in your life. The processes involved in buying a house can be lengthy and confusing for someone who is not a professional in the field, especially for a first time home buyer.

To ensure a smooth transaction in which both parties leave satisfied, you are going to want to make sure you’ve consulted with your home buying squad. “Squad?” you say, “As in, more than one person?” That is correct.

If you are thinking of, or are in the process of buying a new home, there are three individuals you are going to want to have on your team: your realtor, a lawyer, and an insurance broker.

Realtor

This is the most obvious of the three, and yet still many people purchase their homes without the aid of a realtor. There are many ways in which a realtor will benefit your purchase, with the most important being their education on the subject and their experience.

They are more knowledgeable than you on, probably, every aspect on the home buying process. This will make your life a whole lot easier, by saving you time, trouble, and probably a few dollars.

Lawyer

Once an agreement is made between the buyer and seller, a formal contact is drawn up and signed by both parties.

This is where a lawyer will do their part. Contracts are serious, and can be disastrous for you, as a buyer, if they do not properly include what you need, or include clauses you are unaware of or do not understand.

Getting aid from a lawyer who is familiar with real estate law will ensure the contract is appropriate and inclusive of your needs as a buyer.

Insurance Broker

Homeowners insurance is of utmost importance, which is why most people purchase it. But did you know that the province of Alberta has specific needs that should be covered under your home insurance that not all policies offer?

Aside from this, there is also the fact that every home is different, and therefore each homes policy may also need to differ.

To ensure you are paying for the best possible coverage for your home, and at the best value, an insurance broker is the person you need.

It’s All Fun and Games

That is, until you lose thousands or dollars and/or your sanity during the home buying process. While buying a home is exciting, it is also a serious transaction that can come with a variety of obstacles and repercussions.

With the help of a realtor, a lawyer, and an insurance broker, you will avoid any negative outcomes, and should find buying a home to be a simple and successful process.
