Your home is a trophy, as is your family and this includes your pets. Keeping your home clean and healthy may at times seem a massive job. Yet, it does not have to be. We have all experienced what pets can do to a home, marks on the walls, carpets and more. However, you can keep your home in pristine condition.

A dog bed is very important, as a fact, it’s considered to be essential for any dog no matter what his/her age, size or breed is. It provides security, insulation, warmth, and it should be number one on your list to keep your dog happy and healthy. The other necessities will also be feeding dishes of good quality, leash, and collar. A grown dog spends daily around twelve hours sleeping, which is half of their lives.

So, where he/she will be sleeping is very important to their physical and emotional health, and also for your whole family. Your house doesn't need to smell and look like a kennel, just because your dog lives in it with you. To keep a healthy household together with a healthy and satisfied dog, you need to start with his/her bed. Look at the following:

Stop any fur from flying around

Dogs need to be brushed daily. This will be vital especially when you share your home with more than one dog, and you don’t want any loose hair floating all over your home. By spending only about 5 minutes daily with your dog and brush his/her hair, will not only keep your home clean, but it can get rid of that flaky skin.

This is because the natural oils will be distributed all over the coat of your dog. They can smell better, and they may consider it as quality and bonding time together with you. It can also be much easier to keep their beds clean without clumps of hair sticking to the bedding.

The reason for washing your dog’s bed

Because dogs love to curl up on their beds, yours won’t be any exception. This means that it won’t stay clean, and it can be covered with mud, food particles, drool, and hair if you don’t brush it regularly. It may cause some diseases through organisms they carry by picking up fleas, microbes, and allergens, which they get from playing outside in the yard, sand and grass.

Just by petting your furry friend will bring you in touch with fungal or viral organisms, and bacteria that may cause your family or yourself harm. Because all of these harmful organisms can lurk in the bedding for about twelve months, it will jeopardize your dog’s health if you don’t clean the bedding and bed properly and regular. It’s recommended to wash your dog’s bedding and bed at least once every week.

However, if he/she is very active and love the outdoors, you can increase the cleaning process to twice weekly. By washing it regularly, it will be germ-free and stay clean, which can keep your dog and family healthy and safe. First of all, you should vacuum the bedding and bed to make sure you get rid of any excess hair.

If there are any stains on it, make use of some stain remover and then put it in the machine. You need to use hot water to make sure all stains and germs are gone and ensure that you rinse all detergents out. Remember it may irritate your dog’s skin because it’s sensitive.

The bed and bedding must be dried properly and hung out for ventilation. By doing this you can eliminate any disease threat for your furry friend as well as your family and home.

Important benefits that dog beds can provide

Insulation

It will keep him/her off a drafty, cold floor right through the year. Especially during winter, it’s a nesting place for them to feel comfort, warmth and ensure their good health.

Security and privacy

A bed will provide them that special place in your home for him/her to retreat to at any time when it’s necessary and they want to be alone.

It can cushion their bones and joints

This is very important, especially if your dog is older, overweight, or suffers from arthritis. They will need the extra comfort and joint support.

You can control dander and loose hair

With dog beds that are in one place can be easier to clean the dander and hair they shed. Make sure to have extra covers and change it regularly.

Prevent injuries

This can prevent your dog from getting injured because instead of jumping off or onto your bed that is higher, they can just sleep on their own.

For outdoor dogs, it can offer security, protection, and comfort

If your dog loves to spend more time outside than inside, you need a water-resistant, tough bed for comfort, security, and protection.

Your home can remain clean and a healthy environment for you, your family and your pets. The day you decide to sell or rent, your home can be as clean as the day you moved in.
