Are you the type of person that wants to decorate your home for Christmas as soon as November rolls around, or even sooner? Do you dread the day that you have to pull those decorations down and shove them in a box that won’t see daylight until the next Christmas season? You are not the only person that feels this sadness. It is hard to watch those that you know well look forward to packing away the decorations that bring you pure bliss. If this describes you perfectly, then you will surely find comfort in knowing that year-round Christmas decorations are the next big trend.

You Will Be Breaking Social Normatives

Many countries around the world are working towards advancing the rights of a variety of different political, social, cultural, and racial groups. This is especially prevalent in the United States when looking through media sources. You’ll run across marches, events, parades, festivals, and protests to protect the rights of groups and organizations like the LGBTQ population, Black Lives Matter, Christians, Women and Children, and People of Color. The truth is simply that the world is changing to honor and respect the customs of groups of people that we may or may not agree with so long as those customs do not bring harm to the rest of the population. This being said, your Christmas decorations are not the biggest concern of anyone because they do not bring harm to others. This is the perfect time to break the social normative of putting up and taking down your Christmas decorations at specified times of the year. You may even encourage those around you to come forward and break their own social normatives.

Christmas Decorations Are Actually Quite Versatile

Most people associate strings of colored or white lights with the Christmas season, but who says they cannot be used to represent other things? You’ll find these strings of lights along garden fences, in dorm rooms, and set up for other holidays as well. Just because these lights are sold as “Christmas” lights and you use them way doesn’t mean that they couldn’t also represent other holidays and causes in your home because of their versatility.

Artificial xmas trees are another great versatile year-round Christmas decoration. Nobody has to tell you how to decorate these trees. You can leave Christmas ornaments on them, rearrange them around as you feel compelled, or change them completely to reflect other holidays. You wouldn’t be the first person to hang hearts up on an artificial Christmas tree to represent Valentine’s day, flags for national holidays, bunnies and eggs for Easter, or pumpkins and witches for Halloween. Embrace your year-round Christmas decorations in any way that you would like to.

Christmas Doesn’t Just Have To Be A Holiday

You may be a religious Christian and embrace the sacred features of Christmas like the manger scene, the northern star, and Baby Jesus. You may be a Christian that loosely follows the sacred and secular aspects of Christmas and mix Baby Jesus in with Santa Claus. Maybe you are not Christian or you do not believe in Jesus and focus purely on the secular aspects of Christmas. All views are acceptable because they all incorporate themes that apply to everyone all year. These themes include, but are not limited to: love, patience, kindness, miracles, giving, and selflessness.
