Molding House Problems

Written by Posted On Sunday, 21 January 2018 04:50

Just got back from your best family holiday even but glad to be home where you know everything is as it should be. However, your home has been standing quietly and empty waiting for you to return for about 4 weeks.

Now, your back and suddenly within the first week your child has fallen ill and you are not sure what may be causing it. You know for sure that the food is fresh as you bought it upon your return home and there are no diseases in the air that you are aware of. Plus, your child never really gets ill. It’s all just so sudden and you suddenly feel as if e everything is just going wrong since you have arrived home.

There is, however, something that you have noticed upon your arrival home and you have not quite gotten around to getting it done yet. It seems that it has been raining quite a lot during the time you were on holiday and according to your neighbors it rained for about two weeks straight. Your garden looks like a jungle and because your house is made out of wood some areas seem to have drawn in water.winter garden 338926 1280

Before you left to go on holiday you wanted to get someone to come and repair and repaint the house but did not get any time for that either. So, there can only be one cause for this sudden illness your child has.

Old wooden houses tend to build up a lot of mold when there has been a lot of rain and the windows have not been opened or the house cleaned for quite some time. According to research black mold is commonly found in homes under such circumstance, it is also called toxic mold. Mold regenerates through spores and these spores are very lightweight so they easily become airborne. This is most likely what has happened after you returned home, with opening the windows and sweeping the floors, the mold became airborne.

So, as these spores are airborne they can easily enter the human body through inhaling dirty air or even by contaminating your food. There are many different symptoms that one may get if you inhaled some of these mold spores.

Here is a list of different symptoms and problems one may get from inhaling black mold:

There are a lot more symptoms than is listed here. Well, yes, I know this list is quite long and if any of these symptoms are noticed or recurring, you should take your child to see a doctor. If symptoms are at an early stage, as the doctor will be able to give you something to help cure the condition.

You will also need to do a thorough check of your house to find where this mold is hiding and then get rid of it before everyone gets ill and things can get very bad for the family. There should be someone in the neighborhood that does cleanings like these and now is the best time to get your home repaired.

There are a few things that you can do to get rid of mold:

Eliminate Moisture

You must try and keep moisture away from the mold, as it makes it grow faster and soon it will become so much you may have to rebuild your home. If possible, put an air-conditioning unit in where the mold is. You may also use a dehumidifier to help get rid of all the humidity in the air.

Cleaning Solutions

Try cleaning the area as much as you can. There are a few products that are not expensive but will help remove the mold.

The products are:

•    Bleach

•    Vinegar

•    Borax

•    Baking Soda

•    Ammonia

It is best to wear something over your mouth when cleaning the area that is infected by the mold.

Remove Some

If the mold has infected a larger area, you may want to remove that area, especially if the mold is already so bad that you are not able to get it clean. Rather get rid of the material that is infected.

If you are not able to do any of those or have time. Keep the doors closed where the mold is growing while you wait for the professionals to come and do their job. You might be lucky, if they are not busy, they can get to your home within one to two days. Once all the mold is removed and your house is fixed and repair where needed, you and your family can go back to living in a clean good smelling house safe as it should be.
