Tips for Making Your Home Safe for Leaving Your Kids at Home

First of all, you will need to make sure that all sharp objects are out of reach. Kids like things that are sharp or have sharp edges.

You need to check that lower draws and cupboard are locked. Playing with spoons and knives are very interesting to little kids but you surely know the dangers of these items.

Be sure that the stove, oven, and plates are off but rather unplugged. This ensures that there is no way that they can burn them shelves or start a fire by leaving the gas on.

If you have a house with stairs make sure that the stairs are closed or block off. Falling off stairs can do a lot of damage to a little body.

Make sure that any electric cables or plugs are out of reach or closed. Kids like playing with cables and sticking their finger in holes that look interesting.

Keep bathroom doors closed. We do not want your child to open the tap, wet everything then slips and knock out his or her teeth on the skink, bath or the floor. You always need to try and prevent injuries and dental injuries.

Also, keep all the doors locked that leads outside. Anyone can come in and steal a little kid if they know the doors are not locked or your kid may just wander off and end up playing in the street.

Do not leave any strings or rope lying around. Kids may get themselves strangled in the rope hurting themselves.

If you have a dog, close the dog outside. We do not want the kid to hurt the dog and then in defense the dog bites the kid.

Those are just some tips you can use to make your home safe for your kids. These can also be applied even when you are at home as kids can quickly get themselves into a mess. If you have to go out and leave your child or children at home for a short time, try keeping them entertained. Enclose your kid in the lounge with the TV on and give them a lot of different toys, as well as some coloring in books and reading books. This can keep a child busy while you are gone.

Most of the time, kids can keep themselves busy for hours with enough interesting items. However, some kids like watching TV and may then try to do what is shown on TV. In this case, block certain channels or ensure they can only watch movies. Put some dance movies on where there is a lot of singing if you are lucky your kid may even fall asleep.

Furthermore, always remember that you will need to leave your kid or kids something to eat and drink. Yet, you cannot leave things that they may choke on. The same with the toys, make sure they are big enough so that they cannot put them in their mouths. Then, back to the food and drink, leave your kid or kids a bottle or two (if they still drink from a bottle), it not then just put a glass or two with juice down on a table, use plastic instead of glass.

When it comes to food, leave something that is like a snack, porridge that they can snack on when they want something to eat. Today most porridges do not need any milk, and kids like to eat them dry, especially when it tastes like sweeties.
