Do you need to quickly sell your home in Wantagh NY for cash?

There are many reasons why people need to sell their houses fast, but regardless of the cause, speed is of the essence.  If you follow the traditional route and hire a realtor, it may take you a while to get your house sold on Long Island, just by the nature of the process.  You see here on Long Island, the average time on market is 6.5 months.  Part of that is just because it takes a while to market your house and find a buyer.  And, the other part of it is that the closing process here in NY takes a while, especially as we are an attorney state.  So, it can often take 3 months (and sometimes more) to move from accepted offer to contract to close, with the combination of negotiating, contract writing, inspections, and the mortgage process (it takes much longer to get a mortgage nowadays vs 10 years ago).  And, of course, they buyer may need extra time as they may need to sell their existing house before they can afford to buy yours.

 

Of course the 6.5 months is from the time the house hits the market, and don't forget that there is often a lot of time preparing the house so that it's show ready (e.g. painting, repairs, sanding the floors, cleaning, decluttering, etc.).  This can easily take an additional 3 to 6 months, pending on what type of work needs to be done and your schedule.
