Gated Communities in Boca Raton Florida versus Non-Gated Communities

Boca Raton Florida is made up of many gated communities or neighborhoods.  Gated communities are an accepted way of life in south Florida.  Yet, gated communities are not for everyone, because along with gated communities come rules and regulations and homeowner's fees.

If you choose to live in one of the gated communities in Boca Raton FL, you must agree to abide by their rules and regulations.  Some gated communities are less restrictive than others.  For example, a restriction may be no "aggressive" breeds of dogs, or you are allowed 2 dogs with a maximum weight of 25 lbs.  Or, you can't paint your house purple.  Or, only domesticated anmals allowed.  Or, that screen in back must be a certain color and height so it's uniform with the rest of the neighborhood.

This is not a problem for many people - they are fine with the rules and regulations.  The communities' intentions are to keep them well maintained.  Many gated communities also maintain the lawns and landscaping and have a community pool and/or clubhouse.

One reason a person might choose not to live in gated community would be if they had a boat that they trailered in.  That would not be allowed in a gated community but would be allowed in the city of Boca Raton behind a six-foot fence.  They would need to buy a house on a street.   Or, if they had too many pets, or if they didn't want to pay the maintenance fees, the homeowner's fees, that come along with a gated community.

Another reason a gated community might not work is that the person has a truck for work.  Trucks for work with lettering on the side are often not allowed unless pulled into a garage at night.  Oftentimes, they are too big.  On occasion, some communities will allow metallic signs to cover the lettering at night.

Rules and regulations vary from community to community.  Each community is different, so if you are interested in a particular gated community in Boca Raton or Delray Beach or Boynton Beach FL, ask.  Because one gated community might take two dogs with a maximum weight of 25 lbs, another gated community may not have any weight restrictions.  Find out the pet restrictions for you and your dogs and cats, along with anything else of importance to you.  Is this an investment?  Can I rent it right away or must I hold it for a certain amount of time first?

There are many good things that come along with living in gated communities in Boca Raton.  Many people love them.  Some communities are guard gated and some are unmanned gated.  Gated communities come in all price ranges, including luxury gated communities.

One such luxury gated community is Azura, a Pet Friendly Luxury Gated Community in Boca Raton FL.  You can read about Azura by clicking on that link.  If you are interested in buying or selling a home in south Florida, please call/text me (561) 716-7824 or email at This email address is being protected from spambots.
