How to Keep the House Looking Brand New During Summer

The summer season is a period when the family has an opportunity to convene together. During this period, the schools are closed. This means that kids are at home for their summer holidays. While this is a thing for the whole family to be happy that they can be together, it spells a stressful period for most mothers. This is because kids are always rearranging things in the house making it untidy within seconds after cleaning. This leaves many parents wishing that the schools should open faster than the set time. However, a parent can ensure that summers are enjoyable times for kids and other family members. This can be done through the following ways to ensure that the house remains clean and everyone enjoys the season:

1. Allocate Every Kid Three Tasks

Responsibility is built through repetition of a procedure. Kids can, therefore, be taught to be responsible by being allocated tasks that they should do every day. The reason why three tasks are the most ideal is that they are easy to remember. Some of the tasks that kids can comfortably develop a routine of doing include making the bed, cleaning their rooms, and separating dirty clothes from the clean ones. Once they learn to do these tasks every day, they tend to develop a responsibility of doing it always. Such kids will also rarely make their rooms untidy as they know that it is their role to clean them.

2. Spend Time Outside

During summer there is a warm climate outside. You should take advantage of the warm weather by spending more time outside than indoors. This is the ideal period to engage in activities such as swimming and other recreational games that are suited to warm weather. This way, you will have a happy period together with your family. Your house will also remain clean as you will be spending more time outside than inside. Do not let the warm weather go to waste as you experience boredom inside the house.

3. Eat Outside the House

After engaging in activities such as strolling, picnic walks, and sports like swimming, you can consider eating outside. You can also organize for dinner parties outside the house as the weather is usually warm even in the night. Eating out is more fun than always having meals inside the house. The house also remains clean as there is no food mess.

4. One Thing In One Thing Out

This is not an easy thing to do, but with training, kids can learn to make it a habit. They should be taught to put away items such as utensils away immediately after using them. This leaves the house looking tidier than when everything is left in a disorderly manner. Summer afternoons can be boring for kids. However, you can keep them engaged by involving them in activities such as organizing their toys and discarding the ones that they no longer use. Kids are known to enjoy tasks that require sorting. When you involve them is such activities, they will be happier and busy. You will also have an opportunity to spend time with them which is an invaluable experience.

5. Involve Kids in Cleaning Tasks

The summer is the most suitable season for cleaning the house. Kids can also play a part in cleaning. You should prepare them to become responsible adults by allocating simpler cleaning tasks. Give them the cleaning tools to be cleaning their rooms. This will gradually make them accountable, and when they grow up, they will always keep their houses tidy.

During this period, take time to do cleaning activities that you don’t usually do at other times of the year such as tile and grout cleaning. You can involve a professional cleaning company to ensure that this task is done expertly. During the summer, there is adequate heat to help in drying.

The summer is the period when you have the opportunity to be with your kids and teach them invaluable skills that will ensure that they mature to become responsible adults. You can also keep the house clean by involving the kids in activities that keep them busy.
