Pet Friendly Gated Communities Boca Raton FL

Gated communities are a way of life in south Florida and Boca Raton.  If you're a cat or dog owner and thinking of moving to Boca Raton or south Florida, it's important to know which gated communities are pet friendly, if you're looking for a gated community.    Where can I live?  Good question!  Because I know you're not coming without Max or Chloe.  At least, not if you're like me.

Gated communities vary by location, price and type of home.  Regular gated communities do not have equity memberships - there are no additional fees other than your homeowner's fees.  There are gated communities that have only condos, villas and townhouses like the pet friendly gated community of Boca Ridge in Boca Raton FL while most gated communities have single family homes.

Will the dog decide where I live?  Most likely, yes.  Reason being if you have a Golden Retreiver, you cannot go to a gated community that accepts only small dogs.  If you have a small dog, you can, however, go to a community that accepts larger ones.  Crazy, isn't it?  Please don't hurt the messenger.  I didn't make the rules, but I have to follow them.

But first you have to decide if you want to live in a cat and dog friendly gated community, and there are plenty of them around.  Living in a gated community in Boca Raton or south Florida comes with rules and regulations.  For example, you cannot paint your house purple.  Garbage gets put out after 6:00 on certain days.  They

may have rules about renting your house - you may have to wait a year before you can rent it.  Some people are fine with gated communities; others prefer a single family home on a street.  Gated communities, especially pet friendly gated communities, give you a sense of community.  You meet the neighbors while out walking your dog.  You may meet them down at the clubhouse, in the fitness center or at the pool.  In a single family home, you'll meet the neighbors walking your dogs too.  There is a sense of community, but there is no clubhouse or community pool or fitness center, so there you have a difference.

What if I have a large dog?  What if you do?  There are pet friendly communities in Boca Raton Florida that allow large dogs.  What if I have more than one dog?  What if I have three dogs?  There are dog friendly communities in Boca that allow three dogs.  What if I have two dogs and two cats?  Your choices will definitely be more limited, but it is doable (of course depending on price as they vary.)

You're thinking of moving or ready to make this move.  Where do I start.  Start by contacting a buyer's agent first.  Why do you need a buyer's agent?  Maybe you're going to look at building a new house.  You need a buyer's agent even more.  Should I hire a Buyer's Agent for New Construction?  You should hire a buyer's agent for new construction or for a resale - any time you are thinking of buying a property.  Why?  It's simple.  The sales people at the builder work for the builder.  They do not work for you.  They'll help you, but remember, they're out to sell you and sell you high.  The listing agent on a resale will work for you, but, remember, they work for the seller.  They're out to get the seller the highest price possible.  They'll help you, but you won't save on the commission.  Please don't think that for a second.  They will collect a double commission at the end of the day.   And best of all, buyers agents are free to buyers!
