Unique Sales Tools and Tactics That Can Help You Grow Your Business Faster

No matter what kind of business you’ve started or how long ago you started it, growth is an important factor in your survival and success. Currently, 33 percent of businesses will stay in operation for at least a decade or longer, but only about two-thirds of businesses will survive their first two years, and just one half will survive five years. While the reasons for a business’s failure will vary from company to company, one big reason for failure is a business’s lack of growth.

Growth can be fueled, (or stunted), by several different things including cash flow, employees in leadership positions, but especially sales and marketing. Sales and marketing play a big part in fueling business growth, yet only 22 percent of businesses report being satisfied with their conversion rates. There are certain things that you can do to help improve your conversion rates and boost sales—for example, using videos can increase conversion rates by 86 percent—however, there are other sales tools and tactics that you can use as well to help you grow your business faster and stand out from the competition. Below are just a few:

Content (Blogs, Podcasts)

Not everyone thinks of the content they publish as a sales tool and a way to boost business growth, but the content you put out plays a bigger role in your sales and conversions than you might think. Not only will the content that you publish with paid ads on Google, Facebook, and other platforms help drive sales, but even the blogs, podcasts, videos, and other types of content you put out that may not be sales-focused can drive sales and help your business grow. Blogs and other types of content can be used to inform and educate customers and potential customers and can build brand awareness and loyalty. Content strength is responsible for 71 percent of a brand’s performance and determining how meaningful people feel a brand is, which can, in turn, have a big impact on sales and growth.

Coupon and Deal Sites

Consumers love a great deal, and in some cases, they may be willing to try a product or service they wouldn’t have otherwise without the deal to entice them. The goal is that after they do try it, they’ll love the product or service so much, they’ll continue patronizing a business whether a deal or discount is available or not. Using coupon and deal sites such as Groupon or other local options is a sales tactic that can help your business grow by bringing in new customers and encouraging multiple or repeat purchases. While there may be some customers who only purchase once, there will be others who become loyal, long-time consumers of your product or service.

Feather Flags

A feather flag is a tool that may not be usable by all businesses, but it can play a big role in sales and growth for certain businesses, especially considering that it’s such a simple and easy-to-execute idea. Custom feather flags are a unique sales tactic that businesses with a physical location can use to capture the attention of passers-by and draw them into the store. Whether it be a sale on products, a seasonal promotion, or just a way to advertise everyday deals, using feather flags will not only attract customers who are already aware of your business, but will bring in customers who might not otherwise have purchased from you, helping you drive sales and grow your business faster.

Google My Business

Google My Business is a tool that all local businesses should be using. While it’s not often thought of as a sales tool or a way to grow business, considering the fact that 86 percent of consumers use the Internet to find a local business, and 50 percent of local searches result in a store visit within 24 hours, it’s a tool you can’t afford not to be using. While it serves local businesses with brick and mortar locations better than it serves e-commerce only businesses, Google My Business is a tool that any business can benefit from by using it as a way to help boost brand awareness and recognition and drive growth.

Honesty

Believe it or not, practicing honesty is a stronger sales tool and tactic than you might think. Most consumers are well aware when they’re just being pitched to and aren’t necessarily being told the truth. Being honest in your sales strategies and using the truth is something that consumers find refreshing and even somewhat surprising, and it can influence their decision about whether to purchase from your company, helping you grow your business and establish a stellar reputation in the process.

In Conclusion

Whether you’re a freelance developer or own a retail clothing store, business growth is extremely important, and the sales tools and tactics that you’re using could be influencing how quickly your business grows one way or another. While there are certain strategies that you should be using, (such as paid ads), there are other unique tools and tactics you might not be using already that can help you grow your business even faster than you otherwise would. Which sales tools and tactics are you currently using to grow your business?
