How To Choose An Air Purifier - The Short Instruction For Customers

The air that we breathe in everyday life continues to deteriorate day by day. That, in turn, affects our health purely negative.

The problem in air conditioning can be solved by means of various types of air purifiers and humidifier. These devices clean the air of such harmful substances to the human body, such as dust, viruses, and germs, odors (cigarette smoke, urban smog, etc.), allergens such as pollen, pet dander, etc. The purifier is necessary for the premises where are small children constantly.

There are several major categories of air purifiers and filters used in them: mechanical filters, air cleaners with HEPA filters, water filters, adsorption (carbon) filters, air cleaners with photocatalytic filter, air cleaners recommended by the asthmatics and allergy sufferers, as well as complexes of air cleaner-humidifier. We consider these categories in detail.

Mechanical filter (prefilter)

A mechanical filter is used in virtually all air purifiers. They are the simplest filters used in air cleaners for removal of large dust particles and pet hairs. The main function is not only to protect people from these particles but also protect the next filter elements of air purifier from premature wear. Such filters are reusable.

Air purifiers with HEPA filter

(HEPA - High-Efficiency Particulate Arresting). HEPA filters have a fairly large percentage of effectiveness, they are made of special porous material based on glass fiber (able to filter out particles up to 0,3 microns) and they are a key element in many air cleaners. The principle of operation of air purifiers with HEPA filter is quite simple - the flow of air is forced through a filter with a fan and particles are deposited on it. If we consider that major allergens, such as: dust, pet dander, pollen, etc. have a size larger than 1 micron, the air purifiers with these filters can be recommended for use by allergy sufferers and asthmatics. The surface of the HEPA filter is usually impregnated with a special chemical solution that depresses the vital functions of bacteria.

Water filter

The water filter is typically used in climate complexes. Work of the purifier with a water filter is due to the air intake fan, the particles acquire a certain charge and having served on opposite charge wetting discs, dust is attracted to then and washed into the tray. No need for replacement filters.

Purifiers with adsorption (carbon) filter

This can capture virtually all toxic air impurity with a rather large molecular weight. Purifiers with these filters are not very effective to use at high moisture and removal of gases with very low molecular weight. Most often this type of filters in air cleaners are used in combination with other filters to provide better air cleaning. Adsorption (carbon) filters in purifiers must be necessarily changed, approximately every four months, since the accumulation of large amounts of toxins they may become a source of contamination.

Purifiers with photocatalytic filter

Purifiers with photocatalytic filter is a novelty in the field of purifying equipment and are one of the best to date. The operating principle of an air purifier with a photocatalytic filter is decomposition and oxidation of odors, toxic contaminants, and organic compounds into harmless components of clean air at the surface of the photocatalyst under UV light. Size of destroyed particles - up to 0,001 microns. Due to its principle, the air cleaner with a photocatalytic filter can never become a source of contamination. Unlike other air purification systems, this method of photocatalysis releases the air from all contaminants, including viruses, bacteria and gas pollution. Ultraviolet radiation in air purifiers with photocatalytic filter kills microorganisms dangerous to humans. Removal of odors when using these air purifiers are also located at a fairly high level, for example, in one minute of work the filter removes 85% of cigarette smoke. Air purifiers with the photocatalytic filter are the most economical. Also, the positive point is very low noise operation, that is especially useful when working at night.
