Between spills, pets, kids and whatever's under your shoes, carpets contribute to a fair share of dirt in your home. Despite your best efforts at keeping them clean, they can slowly become the bane of your existence. If you're not dealing with an odd stain now, you're dealing with the funky odor coming off it. All of which is equally as troublesome. That’s why we’ve come up with a solution to this problem by creating a spray on carpet cleaner that you vacuum up that’ll work for various types of carpets.

Preventive Care For Carpets

There's only so much elbow greasing you can do before your carpet starts looking like something the cat dragged in. That's why it's always better to stay ahead of the mess by taking extra measures to limit the amount of dirt getting on your carpet, and thus the amount of cleaning you'll need to do. So what can you actually do?

Have A "No Shoes Inside" Policy

Think really hard about all the places you go to, then think about how many times you find yourself rolling on your carpet. Gross right? Thought so too. If you absolutely can't get visitors to take off their shoes outside, place an outdoor rug so they can dust off the worst of the dirt.

Vacuum Often

Just because you can't see the dirt, it doesn't mean it isn't there. So have a schedule, and stick to it. This is especially important in high traffic areas. You want a vacuum cleaner that can go deep into the carpet fibers. If you notice any odors, sprinkle some freshener on the carpet and let it sit for a minute before vacuuming.

Clean up spills immediately - before they have a chance to set in. This can't be overemphasized.

Deep Clean Regularly

Like vacuuming, you should have a deep cleaning schedule, either once or twice a year. Deep carpet cleaning machines use high pressure jets to inject cleaning solution into your carpet, loosen up the fibers, and then suck out the excess solution - which is like getting a thorough massage for your carpet.

These are just preventive measures you can take to ensure your carpet doesn't get dirty fast. If you're trying to get rid of stains without calling professionals, keep reading.

The good thing about this spray is that it'll literally cost you just pennies, since you probably have all the ingredients at home.

Spray On Carpet Cleaner That You Vacuum Up -

Ingredients:

● White vinegar: 2 tablespoons

● Dish soap: 2 teaspoons (make sure it doesn't contain bleach)

● Bicarbonate baking soda

● Warm water: 1 cup

● Clean towels

Steps To Follow

● Mix the water, dish soap and white vinegar into a spray bottle and shake well.

● Sprinkle some baking soda on the stained area, then spray some of the cleaning solution on the baking soda. You'll notice some fizz and bubbles. Let it sit for a bit till it stops fizzing.

● Next, blot the fizzled area with a clean towel, pour some cold water to rinse out the baking soda. Blot again with a clean towel, and repeat a few times till the stain is gone.

● Once you're satisfied with the results, spread a thick dry towel on the area and place something heavy on it - like books. This should absorb water from the carpet faster. Allow this to sit overnight before taking it off.

The good news is that it’s easy to clean up these sorts of messes.
