Cleaning may not be your favorite chore, but there are plenty of ways to keep your kitchen clean. Kitchen countertops, dishes, floors, cabinet doors as well as your appliances get dirty, but that doesn’t mean cleaning should be a hassle. Here are a few kitchen cleaning hacks to help keep your kitchen from getting too dirty.

Kitchen Cleaning Hacks - Keep Your Kitchen Spotless

Clean Your Baking Sheets with Vinegar and Baking Soda

It’s not uncommon for your baking sheets to have some brown, gross, burnt-out residue. With this tactic, you can make it look like the residue was never there! Simply create a mixture of ½ cup baking soda and ½ cup water. Then put the baking sheet in sink and soak it with the mixture. Let it sit for about 30 minutes to an hour. You will then use a scouring pad or sponge to scrub off the residue.

Use Salt and Lemon to Clean Wooden Surfaces and Cutting Boards

Whether you need to clean a chopping board or butcher block, this is an amazing tactic that will leave a fresh scent. Simply sprinkle some coarse salt onto the wooden surface and using a lemon that has been cut in half, scour the surface. Squeeze the lemon slightly to release some juice and let it sit for about five minutes. Finally, scrape it off and give the wooden surface a final rinse with a clean wet sponge.

Make an All-Purpose Cleaner Using Citrus Peels

Citrus peels can come in quite handy when making a cleaner. Use lemon, grapefruit, limes or oranges and add the peels to a large jar. Fill the jar until it’s about half full of peels then cover them with vinegar. Cover the jar with a lid and let the citrus infuse for about two weeks.

Once the time is up, strain the mixture into a bowl using a strainer and discard the peels. Now you have an all-purpose cleaner that you can pour into a bottle. Feel free to add herbs such as rosemary and thyme if you like.

Clean Burnt Pans and Pots with Baking Soda and Vinegar

The combination of vinegar and baking soda is an amazing cleaning agent, capable of cleaning pretty much anything. Here’s how you can use it to clean burnt pans and pots. Mix one cup of vinegar and a cup of water and fill the mixture into the burnt pot or pan and bring it to a boil over high heat. Once the mixture is boiling, remove the pan or pot from the heat, place in a sink and add two tablespoons of baking soda. The mixture will start to fizz, once the fizzing stops, empty the pot and scrub it with a scouring pad or rough sponge. Add baking soda as you scrub to get rid of any stubborn spots before rinsing and drying.

In Conclusion

Cleaning your kitchen cabinets or garbage disposal doesn’t have to be a problem. Tackling buildup and odors early on will prevent the issues from becoming more serious problem areas. With these nifty kitchen cleaning hacks, you should be able to enjoy a sparkling kitchen with little effort.
