6 Steps To Take When Selling Your Home

Written by Posted On Wednesday, 14 August 2019 11:17

Selling a house can be very difficult and challenging, especially if it’s your first time. There are a lot of steps to take when you are selling your home. You want to make sure you're taking all the steps so it’s ready to seen by potential buyers. Here are 6 steps you should know if you want to sell your home.

Real Estate Agent

Meeting the right real estate agent that understands your goals and priorities should be the most important factor. The agent should always have client-centered services and help you navigate and position your property to sell high in a short period of time. Your relationship with the agent is crucially important and trust is essential.

Price

We all know that price is important when selling a house. Market research and comparables are the most effective tools to help you make an educated decision on how to price your property. A new listing gets the greatest exposure within the first few weeks, therefore overpricing the property should be avoided as it may lead to selling for less. Ask your real estate agent to do a home evaluation. Most real estate agents offer a free home evaluation to help you determine the price.

Timing

Timing is the key when you are selling your home. You must see the trends of the real estate in your city and market news to determine when to market your home. If the market is slow, consider marketing your home at a later phase.

Prepare For Show Time

Your potential buyers will be coming to see your home, so make sure the home is attractive and how you want your home to be advertised. Decluttering, removing personal items can help potential buyers envision themselves in the space. Make sure the air is fresh and the home is spotless!

Putting Pen to Paper

Talk with your real estate agent to determine what your goals and priorities are. When offers come in, we have to get ready to negotiate. Your real estate agents help you negotiate to get the best offer possible with the best price for your property but you must understand what your top priorities are to be satisfied.

Accepting The Offer

Once you’ve negotiated with buyers, you will accept the best offer possible. Once you accept the offer, be prepared for an inspection of the home as many buyers like to do an inspection. Everything isn’t completed until you give your keys to the buyers.

Now that you know what it takes to sell your home, prepare yourself and start selling your home! Selling your home should be a fun, exciting journey.
