When you can’t find time to boil your water, solar disinfection is the next most convenient and inexpensive water treatment method. The method involves using direct heat from the sun to aid in the purification process.

First, you need water bottles, water, and access to direct sunlight. Plastic bottles are more suitable compared to the pure glass ones as they have a good heat retention ability. Fill the bottles and leave some space to add more water once you've shaken the bottles for a minute.  The bottles should then be closed tightly and placed in direct sunlight for not less than 8 hours. Though the method is time-consuming, it guarantees you safe and pure water.
