You might find your new place to be a bit messier than you’ve thought. That is why having some cleaning materials at your disposal might prove to be very handy.

• Basic tools – this category includes a variety of things, from a screwdriver and a hammer to first-aid kit and a torch. It’s a good idea to make a list with items that you’ll probably need until your last day at the old house and during the first day at the new place. Here are a few ideas: sticking plasters and other first-aid medical supplies, pocket knife, duct tape, address/phone book, set of tools including a hammer, a screwdriver, tape measure and other things you might require.
