Clean and fresh summery scented beddings

Are you sick and tired of spending your money on laundry detergents, softeners, pads, capsules, and all other products found in stores, that are offered as a way to keep your laundry smell great and fresh? Well, if you are, why do you keep buying them? Do something about it!

You spend a ton of money on expensive laundry detergents, on fabric softeners, etc hoping to have fresh smelling clothes and bedding, but you end up with mixed smells that make it even worse. So why waste your money on such unnecessary stuff, when you can spend much less money and make your beddings smell like summer.

Yes, I am talking about making your own laundry detergent with the exact smell you want. Put an end to those commercialised products that you throw so much money on, only to end up disappointed. Instead spend your money on things that will help you make yourself a nice, efficient and fantastic smelling laundry detergent.

Here I will give you a few simple, easy and frugal recipes on how to make your own detergent.

To make a natural laundry soap you are going to need to mix equal parts washing soda and Borax into a large bowl and add one part grated Castile Soap, with the scent of your choice- there are lavender, coconut, tea tree, peppermint, etc. Whichever speaks 'summer' to you.

And that is it, store it near your laundry machine and use ¼ or less cup per laundry.

A liquid laundry soap is also very easy to do, and in my opinion it has stronger and longer lasting smell. This time, grate the soap and put it on the stove to melt it. Add water and stir constantly. Depending on the scented soap you have chosen, you can add a few drops of essential oil with the same scent, or some additional one, to make your laundry soap smell summery and fresh. Leave your detergent overnight. Use ½ cup per laundry. I guarantee you your beddings will smell fantastic and it will not wear out quickly.

Or if you do not want to go all the way and make yourself home-made laundry detergents, there is something else you can do to make your beddings smell fresh. And here come the essential oils that we all know and love so much, they are just pure liquid magic, aren't they.

You can make yourself a laundry booster with a scent of your choice. All you need to do is fill a plastic containers with a few cups of baking soda, then add essential oil of your choice. Add 2 drops for each cup of soda. You can add different scented oils to make a scent of your own or whichever you like. Leave this for two weeks and use after that. You can add it in the wash or rinse cycle, use about ½ cup per load. High quality cleaning will make your bedding smell fantastic.

Or do a little bit more effort – make a fabric softener to use with your detergent. You are going to need white vinegar (8 cups), baking soda (1 cup), water (1 ¼ cup) and essential oils that you like. Mix them all in a plastic bucket and you have yourself a nice fabric softener to use when you launder your beddings. Choosing the essential oils will be determining the smell of your beddings, so make sure you mix them nicely.

If smells relax you and help you sleep, I would suggest you use lavender essential oils the most, because lavender scent is used for relaxation. But you can of course choose any ones you like, any smell that means summer and freshness to you.
