If you are looking to sell your house or condo in Vancouver, home staging is going to play an important role in how quickly is sells, and for how much.
And although a lot of people think they need to hire a professional stager to rearrange their home and set it up “just so”, there are actually some simple ways in which you can do this yourself.
Set the Selling Scene in the Kitchen
Kitchens are one of the most important rooms in your home when it comes to making a sale. It can truly either make or break whether your home sells, and it also has the ability to increase your selling price.
A Clean Kitchen is a Sellable Kitchen
A “clean kitchen” doesn’t simply mean all the dishes are in the dishwasher. It means all the clutter is gone from the countertops so any potential buyer has a full view of counter space that will be available to them.
It also means that everything is wiped down and grease free – including the stovetop, cupboards and the front of the fridge, removing all magnets and pictures from your fridge as well. Again, buyers need to envision your house as their home, so personal items need to be removed in order for them to better do so.
As an added selling feature, keep a fresh bouquet of flowers on the countertop or table. This may sound “silly”, but it truly adds a certain something that can prompt a smile and feeling of freshness …and a happy face is a “more-inclined-to-buy” face. So go the extra step, and keep some fresh flowers around for showings.
As with the kitchen, all areas of your home should be clean and clear of clutter and personal items. The bathroom should be looking and smelling fresh, floors and windows clean, beds made, and laundry folder.
When a house looks move-in ready, buyers are more inclined to make an offer. So don’t dissuade them from doing so with a messy home or an overly personalized space. These simply tips truly will have your home showing in an optimal fashion, and selling for an optimal price.
