This Fourth of July, celebrate those memories at some of these great events on Lake Wylie!
Red, White and Boom
Located south of Lake Wylie, rests Old Town, South Carolina where lake lovers of all ages are invited to celebrate America’s Independence Day on July 3, from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the town’s annual Red, White and Boom celebration.
Featured fun will include live music, inflatables for the kids, carnival rides and local food vendors. Patrons can also enter for a chance to be crowned champion of the celebration’s ice cream eating contest.
The 17th annual Red, White and Boom festival will conclude with sundown fireworks spectacular.
Admission to the event is free to attend for all patriots, but vendors’ goods will be available for purchase during the event.

Tega Cay’s 4th of July Celebration
Starting at 9 a.m., patriotic lake lovers in the Tega Cay-area are invited to participate in the town’s annual July 4 golf tournament and golf-cart parade.
Decorated carts will be eligible to win first, second and third place prizes, which include a bar stereo system with installation, a $100 gift certificate to Carolina Golf Cars and a $50 gift certificate to Carolina Golf Cars.
Additional floats, neighborhood and community groups and business entries will also participate to win weekend pontoon boat rentals from Tega Cay Marina.
The day’s events will continue with a log rolling and paddleboard joust at 11 a.m., followed by a boat parade, ski team show, fish fry, splish and splash summer bash - complete with waterslides, snow cones and face painting -- and fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
Maki Taco and Gnam Gnam Gelato food trucks will be on site serving foods and treats during the event’s Windjammer party.
In addition to celebrating America’s independence, Tega Cay will also celebrate its 37th “birthday,” with free cake and birthday party at 6:30 p.m.

4th of July Fireworks Over Lake Wylie
Presented by the Lake Wylie Chamber of Commerce, 4th of July Fireworks Over Lake Wylie will take place this July 4, beginning at dusk.
Fireworks can be seen from both land and water. Viewers enjoying the show from Lake Wylie’s shores are encouraged to watch from Lake Wylie Plaza near Buster Boyd Bridge.
Other optimal viewing spots include Papa Doc's outside deck, Bagel Boat and Long Cove Resort
Parking near the bridge along NC Highway 49 will be prohibited beginning in the late afternoon so show spectators should arrive early.
There is no admission fee for viewing 4th of July Fireworks Over Lake Wylie; however, onlookers are reminded that the show is run entirely on donations from the public.
