Many overseas Filipino workers spend years in other countries just to earn bigger for their families. Some OFWs are lucky enough to get the opportunity to bring their families with them but most of them have to withstand months or years of not being with their families. With the many sacrifices that come with working overseas, it is not surprising that many overseas workers dream of investing their money so that they can have a stable source of income back home.

Aside from their own business investments, most OFWs also dream of having their own home. While some set their sights on house and lot properties, there is a growing number of OFWs who recognize the benefits of condos and choose to purchase a condo instead.

Most developers have both condos and landed houses projects. To help you in deciding which of these two types of properties fit you, turn to a developer like Ayala Land Inc (ALI) that offers both. Look at both condos and homes so you can have a more accurate assessment of your needs and preferences. Below are some tips to help any OFW buy a condo.

  • Have all your papers ready. If you are really planning to purchase a condo, then you can make sure that things flow smoothly by preparing all the necessary papers. Many OFWs get this problem because of their constant absence from the Philippines. Hence, it is so much better if all the pertinent papers ready.
  • Get someone trustworthy to be your representative. Whether you like it or not, there will be instances and transactions that will require you. It Is best  if you can find a reliable person whom you can trust so that he or she can be your official representative for such transactions.
  • Do an ocular. It is always best to view the property before buying anything. However, for OFWs, this is not so easy. The best thing you can do is to ask someone to take pictures of the site. Browse online for any pictures so you can get a better feel of the property. You may also identify specific dates when you will be in the Philippines so that you can schedule a proper viewing.
  • Make plans for the condo. The fact is if you might not be in the Philippines most of the time. Still, it will be good to have specific plans for your condo.
