  • Los Cerritos Ranch House (Rancho Los Cerritos) – This National Historic Landmark is the largest and most impressive structure left over from the Mexican period. Now converted into a museum by the city, the home features Victorian furnishings, California history research library and formal Italian garden with orange and cypress trees. It is located adjacent to Bixby Knolls and considered by some a part of the Bixby Knolls community.

Myrtle Avenue just above Longfellow School and along Atlanta Avenue north of the 405 Freeway there are several small trendy shops and restaurants that embody the appeal and unique character of Bixby Knolls.
