When you're looking to sell your home, it’s important to stage every room, of course, but it's a fact buyers will spend more time in the kitchen, living room and bedrooms than they will in a bathroom. Bathrooms are not generally a place where strangers share communal experiences. Many home buyers feel slightly uncomfortable looking at bathrooms while touring homes almost to the point of scaring them off. Below, a few tips to help stage your bathroom when selling your home.
-
·Create displays by grouping items together in odd numbers such as 1, 3 or 5. Vary the height of candles and jars.
-
Put away your shampoo bottles. A bathroom that looks lived in is simply not appealing.
-
Buy new matching towels and soaps that are put out just for showings (or guests, as the case may be) and never used.
-
Make sure light bulbs are all the same size and color. If they're frosted, go for all frosted; if they're clear, make sure they're all clear
-
Slip a white robe on a padded hanger and hang it on the door or from the shower door.
-
Consider a placing a new rug next to the bathtub or shower.
-
·Use greenery sparingly to add life and color.
-
·Arrange bath products, drop a few flower petals around them. Be creative.
-
Remove all items from the floor, including plungers, mats and scales. You want to make small bathrooms look more spacious.
