The cockroaches are very unpleasant and unsanitary creatures. They come to a house, if they feel that they can find some easy food in there. So, they usually attack dirty homes, where people don't clean regularly and leave plates of food on the counter or bread crumbs on the floor. They not only feed on our leftovers, but they also spread various unpleasant diseases, because they go practically everywhere – sewers, toilets, dusty cupboards, drains and everywhere else they can fit. So, if we eat something a cockroach has been on or fed from, the risk of catching some nasty disease is very big. This is why getting rid of these hideous creatures is essential. Unfortunately, they are very durable and they can't be killed just by anything. Fortunately, there are a few quite simple tricks you could use to exterminate the cockroaches in your home, and they won't even see it coming.

Soap and Water

Yes, this simple water and soap solution is very effective in killing cockroaches individually. You just need to splash or spray this solution on the cockroach, and it will die in a minute or so. The reason this has such a great effect on these pests is, because they breathe through their skin, and the soapy water will simply suffocate them. Simple and effective. Although, there is a possibility that the cockroach will come back to life after the water dries out, because these creatures are incredibly hard to kill. Also, they can live almost a month without food. Get more fun facts about the Bugs in the Property.

Buy a Spray

This is a much less invasive way to exterminate the cockroaches. You can find many kinds of bug sprays in every convenient store. You just need to spray it on the cockroach and it will die within moments. These sprays are not so dangerous for the pets, compared to the pesticides. You should still keep them away from children though.

Pesticides

This is a very radical measure, but sometimes it's necessary, if the infestation is too big and there is no other way. You can buy these pesticides from any specialised store in your area. You just need to spread them all over the house and around it, and all the pests will just die. The downside to using these pesticides is that they are very harmful to the environment and you can poison the nearby pets and wild animals. I'm not sure if it's worth when it endangers so many innocent lives.

Deterrent Concentrate

In our modern days the scientists have created this very useful solution, which not only exterminates the cockroaches in your home, but also keeps away the potential new ones. This deterrent should be diluted with water and after that every surface of your home should be wiped or sprayed with it. It's very handy and will keep the bugs away for at least two weeks. After that you should just repeat the process.

Use Bait

Some people find it very useful to bait the cockroaches out. They use some leftover food and leave it somewhere in the house. The trick is that they put poison inside it. The cockroaches come out to feast at night, and they end up dead. The problem is that if you have a pet in your home, it could eat the poison itself.
