2016 Holiday Events Abound in Denver!

The holidays are always a hectic time for Denver homeowners, but hopefully you're taking time to enjoy the season. Whether you're a Denver area native, a new or long-time resident, or considering relocating to our city, the holidays are filled with unlimited fun. Whatever your taste, here are some upcoming holiday events – both traditional and unique. We know you're sure to enjoy them!

: Shown Above – Downtown Denver’s 16th Street Mall

Breakfast with Santa at the Downtown Aquarium- Dates include December 10, 11, 17, 18, 20-24 and seating begins at 8:30 AM. Join Sharkey and Santa Claus for a delicious breakfast buffet that includes red velvet pancakes, waffle station, omelet’s made-to-order, fresh fruit display, pastry station and much more! Guests will also enjoy taking photos with Santa and may see him swim with the fish!

Downtown Denver Grand Illumination – As part of Downtown Denver's winter in the City program, Downtown Denver's Grand Illumination will light up Downtown, from Denver Union Station to the City and County Building. The City and County Building and Union Station will be ablaze with brightly colored floodlights illuminating the historic structure in the heart of Lower Downtown and its lighted tree in front. Light Exhibition runs through the end of December.

16th Street Mall Holiday Lights- also through the end of January 2017, Denver’s mile-long pedestrian promenade, is decorated with more than one million white lights. Horse drawn carriages ride up and down the mall nightly beginning at 6 pm, offering a unique means by which to enjoy the lights. Unique holiday entertainment and special events will take place separately at each destination.

Events at the Denver Performing Arts Complex- From dramas to musicals, comedies to cabaret, they have a show for everyone. They also play host to a variety of events and experiences, from special event fundraisers to free discussions, family outings to backstage tours.

The Nutcracker in Denver- Whether it’s your first time – or 20th time – captivating costumes and scenery, unforgettable characters, and Tchaikovsky's treasured music make Colorado Ballet's rendition of The Nutcracker the ultimate holiday event.

A Christmas Carol- through December 24. The heart-warming holiday classic, returns to the Stage Theatre. Enjoy original songs, ghostly chills, laughter, and warmth. A Christmas Carol is a joyous and opulent musical adaptation that traces money-hoarding skinflint Ebenezer Scrooge’s triumphant overnight journey to redemption.
