SARASOTA, FLA.(April 30, 2019) — An exquisite 17thfloor Beau Ciel condominium, owned by the late Sarasota socialite Beatrice Friedman, has sold for $3.25 million. The four-bedroom, five bath residence, located at 990 Boulevard of the Arts #1702, features 4,461 square feet of luxury living. Premier Sotheby’s International Realty’s downtown Sarasota office handled both sides of the sale: Tamara Currey represented the seller; Mike Warm brought the buyer.

The spacious home features floor-to-ceiling windows, large balconies and expansive views of Sarasota Bay. Elegant appointments include a private elevator, wet bar, dual walk-in closets and a jewelry closet. An extraordinary great room boasts an acoustical domed ceiling and built-in bar. The gourmet kitchen is crafted with gas stove and state-of-the-art appliances as well as the finest cabinetry and granite.

Brimming with luxurious amenities, Beau Ciel offers an impressive outdoor pool area and an exceptionally well equipped fitness center plus an affiliation with the neighboring Hyatt for room service and more. In addition, Bayfront Park, Ringling Bridge and countless cultural and culinary offerings are close at hand.

Friedman and her late husband, inventor and businessman Allan Friedman, were both lovers of classical music, a passion that inspired more than 40 years of support for the Florida West Coast Symphony, now the Sarasota Orchestra. Mrs. Friedman was a longtime board member, donor and active supporter who did far more than write checks. The same was true of her support for other Sarasota nonprofits, including the Women’s Resource Center, the Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee, and Jewish Family and Children Services. She did her giving in a highly visible manner in the interest of encouraging others to do the same, and with a sparkle in her eye was fond of reminding people, “There are no luggage racks on a hearse.”

“Queen Bea” particularly enjoyed the view from her terraces where she could see the impact of her philanthropy throughout her beloved Sarasota.

“This sale is a testament to the strength of the downtown Sarasota market, as well as the power of our brand to expertly unite buyers and sellers of extraordinary homes.”

Tamara Currey, Premier Sotheby’s International Realty

“When discerning clients come to Sarasota in search of the perfect property, it’s our responsibility to find them something that fits their definition of “perfection.”  The Beau Ciel unit, with the city of Sarasota and the surrounding waterways as the backdrop, met and exceeded my client's expectations."

Mike Warm, Premier Sotheby’s International Realty
