How to Create a Spa-Like Bathroom Experience at Home

Posted On Tuesday, 31 January 2023 20:06

We take a trip to the spas to feel pampered, relaxed and rejuvenated. The entire experience of a spa day revolves around an environment that helps us unwind and forget about our stress and worries for some time. But how can we bring a spa straight to our home? Thankfully, the answer is easy- creating a spa-like bathroom experience at home!

Here are some easy ways to build your own sanctuary in the bathroom without having to step out of the house.

1. Get a bathtub caddy

If you have a bathtub but not a caddy, adding one will seriously amp up the spa vibes. It is an effortless addition yet creates a big impression as they are available in different styles. Find one that suits your style and adds to the sensibility of your bathroom.

2. Organising and restocking your bathroom

A disorganised and cluttered space will only add to your stress instead of making you relaxed. You can begin by discarding any products you are no longer using or have passed the expiry date. Be mindful when restocking and keep any items you don’t use daily in your bathroom cabinet or drawers. Any open counter space should be dedicated to everyday essentials. A simple addition like a shower screen from Glass House AU will also be a game changer!

3. Consider using floor rugs

Soft floor rugs are not only luxurious but also aid in adding character to any room. Why not add one to your bathroom to make it cosier? Imagine how heavenly it would feel when you step out of your shower and your feet are greeted by a warm, fuzzy, soft surface instead of cold hard tiles on cold mornings. When shopping for floor rugs for your bathroom, look for quick to dry options to prevent any bacteria from growing in them.

4. A splash of green

Colour psychology confirms that the colour green has a naturally calming effect on us. Hence almost all spas have an earthy feel to add with the help of a variety of plants. If you are short of space, hanging plants from the window works magic! Bathrooms without windows can be spruced up with spider plants and Boston ferns, as they are known to thrive in a low-light environment.

5. Routine bathroom cleaning

This might seem silly, but if you have ever stepped into a spa, you must have noticed how the space is impeccably clean and well-maintained. You can do the same for your bathroom by making it a habit to clean it every week, so you don’t have to think twice about the grime and dust that might be collecting in the hidden spot in your bathroom. A clean tub is always the key to a relaxing bath and relaxation time.

6. Cater to your olfactory receptors

The way a space smells is crucial in helping us feel calm and serene when we are in that space. So, indulge in the aromatherapy of your choice. Thankfully, there are multitudes to choose from- essential oils, scented candles, soaps, and lotions for you to make you feel pampered and relaxed at the same time. Some common choices are lavender, French vanilla, ylang-ylang, etc. A bundle of eucalyptus in a vase on your bathroom countertop is also a great choice.

While there are many other ways to bring the spa to your own bathroom, we hope these tips and tricks will give you a head start to creating a rejuvenating spa-like experience without a lot of effort or breaking the bank.
