Parc Komo :: The Komorebi Experience

Written by Posted On Wednesday, 22 May 2019 07:10

WHEN SUN SHINES THROUGH THE LEAVES,
LIGHT DANCES, AND CASTS A GENTLE GLOW.
That’s the magic of Komorebi.

Another residential development that foreigners are eligible to buy is the Parc Komo condominium.  This project is located in Changi that is close to, in fact within 5 to 10 minutes drive from the Changi International Airport, a major transport hub of South East Asia.  The Parc Komo condo is one of the few sizeable freehold housing developments on the market, as most of the bigger projects are on 99 year leasehold land.  The design and concept of Parc Komo is inspired by the Japanese Komorebi experience.

Here the emphasis is on a home carved out from nature and the interplay of light and shade, set within a close-knit community, with meticulous attention to detail to take care of residents' well-being.  It is a small scale low-rise project, that gives it a cosy, neighbourly feel.  Just 5 storeys high, with 276 residential apartments housed in 10 blocks.  The apartments range from one bedroom units, to 5 bedroom apartments that come with a private lift.

Parc Komo is in a way a mixed development as well.  It actually has a retail segment comprising 28 shops spanning 32,000 square feet of retail space.  Out of these, 5 units will be F&B outlets, while the others will be a mix of retail offerings.  These could offer the conveniences of a mini-mart, to hair and beauty salons, a laundromat, and possibly florists and green-grocers, and so on.  This makes the entire development quite self-sufficient, and could suit retirees who want a more laid-back lifestyle far from the crowded city.

If you would like to arrange a viewing, the Parc Komo showflat is located at the actual site.  It showcases a 2 bedroom unit, a 3 bedroom unit, and 5 bedroom unit.  What is interesting is that the 2 bedroom show suite displays a ground floor apartment.  The ground floor units here have much higher ceilings than the norm.  While the upper floor units are either 2.95 metres, or 3.15 metres high, the ground floor units are 4.65 metres high.  That allows a loft deck to be built as can be seen in the Parc Komo showflat, and lends a special feel to the high ceiling rooms.  Parc Komo is due for completion in June 2023.  Hence payment is progressive, as each stage of the project completes.  As mentioned in my first posting, US citizens do not have to pay the Additional Buyers Stamp Duty that other nationalities (apart from locals) are liable for.
