Huntington Beach, California REAL Estate Market Update

Fall is here. The air is crisp. The leaves are falling. But, the real estate market in Huntington Beach is still hot, hot, hot!

Sure, things have slowed down a bit. But, that's normal for this time of the month. The good news is that home values are still rising, homes are still selling quickly, and mortgage rates are still considerably low. With that said, here's what you all came here for. The numbers. The stats. The good stuff.

October 2017 Home Sales:

Homes Sold: 159 (decrease of 5.4% from last month, increase of 4.6% from same period in 2016)

Average Days on Market: 41 (which means low inventory, homes are selling FAST)

Price Per Square Foot: $482 (Detached, $501, Attached, $436)

Average Price:

Detached Homes: $1,075,102 (an increase of 3.8% compared to last month, 4.9% increase from Oct. 2016)

Attached Homes (condos, townhomes, etc.): $615,292 (decrease of 9.5% from last month, increase of 10.2% from the same period last year)

Mortgage Rates: 3.95% ( 30- year fixed-rate, According to FannieMae)


So, what do all of these crazy numbers really mean?

Well, if you are thinking of selling, now is a good time to go on the market. Mortgage rates are low and inventory is low. Therefore, there are more buyers and less homes. Low supply, high demand.

If you are thinking of buying, now is still a good time. Mortgage rates are still low, saving you thousands over the life of your loan. Plus, many buyers are taking a break from home shopping during the holidays. So, there will be less competition and less multiple offers.
