Today, thanks to the longest running bull market on record and strong employment, many Baby Boomers and Gen X'ers are staking a claim in the California Desert. With renewed finances and optimism, home buyers are capitalizing on the opportunity to buy their dream vacation and retirement homes now, and for many of them the city of La Quinta is at the top of their list.

During the past six months, on average, Coachella Valley home purchases have increased and prices along with them. The City of La Quinta is experiencing high single and double digit monthly, year-over-year increases in the Number of Homes Sold, and Prices of Homes Sold. What's more, there are fewer homes on the market, and homes on average are selling in fewer days on market.

Another reason for the increased interest is the good work being done by the City of La Quinta and Joint Coachella Valley Economic Development Organizations' programs to build awareness, promote and expand the area's economy. Tourism and Hospitality are the two top local industries, and La Quinta and its bordering cities, Indio and Indian Wells are the epicenter for the largest and most lucrative events, festivals and tournaments. Annually, these events lure top talent, celebrities, athletes, and millions of spectators, participants, and media from every corner of the world. A few like the La Quinta Arts Festival, CoachellaFest and StageCoach Festivals, PGA CareerBuilder Challenge, and BNP Paribas Tennis top most everyone's list, although thousands come for the famed HITS International Equestrian Hunter/Jumper and Polo Competitions.

The Most Popular Festivities below:

PGA Careebuilder Challenge Golf Tournament at SilverRock Resort and PGA West

BNP Paribas Grand Slam Tennis Tournament

HITS hunter/Jumper Equestrian Grand Prix

Polo at the Eldorado and Empire Polo Clubs

La Quinta Residents are Financial and Economic Beneficiaries

The economic and financial benefits of these world-class spectacles is used by the City to make it a truly special place for residents and visitors. La Quinta is well-managed by Linda Evans, City Mayor, City Council and it is well-maintained by staff and employees that are bright, innovative and passionate about serving. The City's public infrastructure is robust, and law enforcement keeps the city and neighborhoods feeling safe and secure.

Historic Old Town la Quinta is a favorite place for residents and visitors to gather, shop eat and entertain. The Civic Center Campus with its library and wellness center is an oasis of beauty, education and well-being. These family-friendly gathering spots are often hosts to city and business sponsored attractions such as a Sunday Farmers Market, and many Arts, Music and Holday concerts, festivals and events.

The Current La Quinta Real Estate Market

During the past six months, La Quinta and its bordering cities, Indio and Indian Wells have for the most part, shown steady monhly increases in the percentage of Number of Homes Sold, and Average Home Sold Prices. It's easy to speculate that Trilogy at La Quinta, recognized as one of the area's best valued 55+ golf and tennis resort communities, will continue to attract many of these warm weather sunseekers.

Broad Mix of Home Styles and Prices

And, while many of La Quinta's homes command 1+M price tags, there are a few communities of exceptional value and prices, Trilogy at la Quinta being one of them. The community of 1,238 homes range in price from $300,000 to $780,000. Many homes come with pools, spas, barbecues, golf course and majestic mountain views. For a detailed home market report click on 'Coachella ValleyReal Estate Report.
