The Urban Land Institute (ULI) invites you to make your nomination online or email your nomination to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for the 2022 ULI Prize Laureate before December 31, 2021.

The ULI Prize for Visionaries in Urban Development is ULI's preeminent global honor. ULI awards the $100,000 prize every year to “a living individual who has made a distinguished contribution to community building globally, who has established visionary standards of excellence in the land use and development field, and whose commitment to creating the highest quality built environment has led to the betterment of our society.” ULI will announce the next Laureate in the summer/fall of 2022.

ULI describes itself as ”the oldest and largest network of cross-disciplinary real estate and land use experts in the world. ULI members create thriving communities around the globe and shape the future of the industry.”

ULI does not notify nominators whose nominees are not selected, however, the jury may reconsider any nominee in a future year.

• 2021 Laureate Jonathan F.P. Rose is president and founder of New York City-based Jonathan Rose Companies LLC, a multidisciplinary real estate development and investment firm that focuses on creating affordable, transit-accessible communities that are culturally and socially diverse and environmentally conscious.    

• 2020 Laureate Anthony Williams, former Washington, D.C. Mayor, is widely credited with leading D.C.’s comeback and restoring the District’s finances while dramatically improving city services. Mayor Williams is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Federal City Council, a nonprofit “dedicated to the advancement of civic life in the nation’s capital.”
