What to Do When the Garage Door Remote Won’t Work

Written by Posted On Tuesday, 24 October 2017 00:05

Remote controls provide convenience and it can be frustrating when it fails to function because you have to get off your car and pull the wall control switch when you need to open and close your garage door. However, this issue is common and it is easy to solve.
First you need to check the batteries. Frequently, dead batteries cause the remote to fail. It is recommended that you always have spare batteries in case situations like this arise. If you already changed the batteries but it still wouldn’t function, there might be an interference problem or the photo eye of the sensor is dirty. Wipe the photo sensor with a dry cloth and see what happens.
If none of the above tips work, your remote control needs reprogramming. You can check on the manual or call a technician for help. If after reprogramming it still wouldn’t function, it’s time to replace your old remote with a new one.
