Leaking Dishwasher – What to Do?

Written by Posted On Tuesday, 24 October 2017 00:38

It can be quite frustrating when you find your dishwasher leaking. The following are the parts of the dishwasher you can check which can be at fault.
• Check for the pump. This is where the water circulates into the dishwasher. It is usually found at the bottom and is composed of two compartments – for wash or circulation and for drain respectively. Check for the seals found in the compartments if they are defective.
• Door gasket. If you find any leaks around the front, the door gasket might be the culprit. The door gasket id sealed with soft rubber or vinyl. When they age, they can become brittle and may not seal properly.
• Water inlet valve. this is where the water from the main water line pass through to the dishwasher. You can check for the connection if it’s secured for it may be a source of the leak.
If you can’t resolve the issue on your own, call for a home appliance repair service.
