What is Highland Beach Florida?

If I mention Boca Raton or Delray Beach or Miami Beach, Florida, people instantly recongnize the name.  But, if I mention Highland Beach, Florida, they look at me kind of funny as if to say, what are you talking about.  So let me tell you a little about it because it's worth knowing, especially if you're a beach person.

Highland Beach FL is one of the most beautiful places on earth.  Comprised of 1.1 miles directly along the ocean, Highland Beach sits directly between the ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway.  It has condos and townhouses, villas and single family houses.   The town of Highland Beach has its own Town Commission, police force, post office, TV channel, website and water department.  The population is 3539 and the median age is 62.  The median household income is $ 94,662.

The only means of access to Highland Beach is via Boca Raton or Delray Beach.  That's it.  The town has no stores, no public parking except at the town complex.  People who live in Highland Beach do their shopping in either Boca Raton or Delray Beach, a five-minute ride in either direction, with all the stores you could possibly think of.  Think grocery stores, banks, dry cleaners, yoga, pilates, juice bars, fitness centers, gyms, Trader Joe's, Fresh Market, Whole Foods, restaurants, schools, hospitals, houses of worship and easy access to main arteries for travel.

Highland Beach is easily accessible by Fort Lauderdale Airport, West Palm Beach International Airport, Miami International Airport or Boca Raton's Private Airport.

Are you a pet person?  Do you have a cat or dog or possibly two?  There are some pet friendly condos in Highland Beach, which is great for pet owners because they are hard to come by, especially at the beach.  A few other cat and dog friendly condos in Highland Beach that come to mind are the Highland Beach Club and Trafalgar.  We have dog parks, Mizner Bark and Canine Cove and Boca Raton has its own dog beach now.  So the Boca/Highland Beach/Delray Beach area is becoming more pet friendly!  And why not?  When WebMD can give me 27 ways pets can improve my health, I believe it  (Though you know I already believed it before!)

So, there you go.  Now you know all about Highland Beach, FL and what a beautiful place it is.  If you have any questions, I can always be reached on my cell or by text at (561) 716-7824 or by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
