Gardens all over the world - Rebellion of the Gnomes

Gardens have a special importance in Germany. Almost nowhere else in the world the local oasis of well-being is so much taken care of as there. Of course, the Germans are not the only ones for whom the garden means a lot. Depending on the nation, however, the approach to the refinement of the often-small green areas in front of or behind the house varies.

Special garden traditions

British gardens are known for their meticulously cut lawns and roses. Japanese gardens, on the other hand, create impressive effects by using beautifully shaped stones - and what about the Germans? The garden dwarfs are a worldwide export hit and a trademark of the German garden. They are loved or hated or are even regarded by some as a symbol of stuffness. But one thing is certain: they are cult. According to estimates, there are over 25 million garden gnomes in German gardens alone.

A place for family and friends

Another characteristic of German gardens is their functionality. They serve as playgrounds for children, are equipped with whirlpools and paddling pools and surrounded by pretty fences. Tools such as lawn mowers are stored in garden sheds. Often these sheds are even equipped with televisions to enjoy cosy football evenings with friends in the open air. Allotment gardens are a holiday resort, event location and at the same time a haven of peace and order. A real allotment garden also includes a cosy garden house. If you want to buy a garden house or a fence, you shouldn't only look at the price. If you buy a cheap hut or fence for your garden, you will surely regret it. Mould can quickly damage the wood of a cheap garden shed and destabilize the construction. This is not only ugly, but also endangers the health of visitors or children. Especially in the field of fences, the so-called double rod mat fences (if you’re interested in this you should have a look here: https://www.garten24.shop/zaun.html ) have proved their worth over the last few years. Due to the noble design these fences fit into almost every garden.

Especially in times when everyday life seems to become more and more hectic, more and more Germans long for their own oasis of well-being. However, one thing should not be underestimated. For people as well as for gardens, the following applies: if you want to be beautiful, you have to suffer.
