Pet-friendly gated communities come in all shapes and sizes in Boca Raton and South Florida. Sure, there are plenty of pet-friendly gated communities in Boca Raton, but will they be pet friendly to your pets? Good question.
AGGRESSIVE BREEDS AND GATED COMMUNITIES IN BOCA RATON
We know there are those gated communities that take up to 25 lbs and those that take larger dogs, or more than two dogs. But 99% of the time, what is commonly referred to as "aggressive breeds" are excluded. Don't shoot the messenger; that's just the way it is. I've always suggested to these folks to buy a home on a street as opposed to a gated community to avoid potential issues.
However, I recently helped a young family who was relocating to south Florida with dogs - three of them to be exact and two which were American Stafforshires. They wanted to be in a gated community in Boca. What to do? Not only did I have three dogs (more than two,) two of them were was is known here as "aggressive" breeds. I searched and searched until I found them a gated community in Boca that will take their family and three pets.
NOT AN EASY TASK
This was not an easy task by an means. It gives me great satisfaction when I can help people, and I love dogs, so I was not about to give up. I think it goes back to my court reporting days. Well, we did it. This is not to say every community will accept "aggressive breeds, because most will not, but there are a few.
Now this young couple can move into their new home with their children and all their pets. Because, after all, who is going to get rid of a beloved dog or cat? They're part of the family.
IN SUMMARY
In summary, do your homeowrk, especially if you have pets. Do yourself a favor and hire a buyer's agent in Boca Raton who is very familiar with the area you are moving to. - evem if youa re planning to build new construction. Especially if you are planning to build a house! Take a buiyer's agent to the builder with you. It will end up saving you money and likely find you the best community that fits your specific needs.
