Generally speaking, one way to increase the value of a customer's home is to enhance a room of most importance to the majority of real estate consumers. The kitchen is one of those rooms and cabinets are typically the best way to increase the resale value of a home without incurring a huge financial investment. If you are looking for the best in kitchen cabinetry, look no further than Armstrong Cabinet Products.

A division of Armstrong World Industries, Inc., Armstrong Cabinet Products ranked highest overall among cabinet manufacturers in J.D. Power and Associates 2008 Cabinet Satisfaction StudySM for the second consecutive year. The study measured customer satisfaction with cabinets based on five factors, listed in order of importance to consumers: ordering and delivery; price; operational performance; design features; and warranty. Armstrong-brand cabinets performed particularly well in ordering and delivery; price; operational performance; and warranty.

"Armstrong's highest ranking for the second year in a row in this independent study demonstrates the commitment of our 1,200 cabinet employees to providing customers with the exceptional service and quality products they expect from Armstrong," said President and CEO Robert M. Cohen.

According to J.D. Power and Associates, "Ease of the cabinetry ordering process, along with timeliness of product delivery and the condition of the cabinets upon arrival are aspects of a building or remodeling project that can make or break a customer's timeline. If a construction delay occurs, it can mean additional expense and inconvenience for the customer-which have a strong negative impact on overall satisfaction with the cabinets."

In addition to offering easy ordering and on-time delivery, Armstrong-brand cabinets are designed to address the way Americans want to live, according to Kalpesh Nanji, director of marketing for Armstrong Cabinet Products. "From stacked wall cabinets to a breakfast bar with banquette, Armstrong-brand cabinets add custom looks that complement any style while offering storage and organizing solutions that take cabinet design to a higher level of performance," he said.

Performance of another variety but in a related matter was recently announced when RTA Cabinet Store, a family kitchen cabinet importer based in Pennsylvania, recorded their fourth consecutive quarter of record growth. Despite a struggling housing market and uncertain economy, RTA, importers of ready-to-assemble kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities, found a way to defy industry trends and produce unprecedented growth.

"We are in a unique position where our cabinets lend themselves to both a down economy and a booming economy," stated Jake Park, Operations Manager for RTA Cabinet Store. "With a high quality cabinet at a price that is well below retail price, it is a natural choice whether you are looking for a way to update your house and add value, or looking to get more money out of a rental property."

RTA Cabinet Store currently offers seven different cabinet styles, with a wide range of sizes and accessories. They recently expanded into a unique granite product that allows contractors to buy granite countertops for 30-40 percent below current prices. "The addition of our two new RTA kitchen cabinet lines has definitely contributed to our growth," said Park. "The Windsor Maple and Sunset Maple cabinet lines give us two very popular finishes. The real contributor to our growth has been the granite countertops. By offering them only through contractors, we have been able to expand our customer base of repeat business"."

While most kitchen cabinet manufacturers sell their kitchen cabinets through Home Depot and Lowes, RTA Cabinet Store has taken a grass roots approach by selling their cabinets through family owned businesses, direct to contractors, and their wholesale Web site. While there is a lot of competition on the Internet, RTA Cabinet Store has been able to differentiate themselves by going direct to the manufacturing plant and importing RTA cabinets directly.

The kitchen historically has been a room of great interest to real estate consumers. That fact most likely will not change anytime soon. The products will, and the it is important to stay on top of what is available in order to serve the consumer best.
