Buying A Luxury Seattle Condo

Seattle Luxury Condos for Sale

In a crowded city like Seattle, condos are an extremely popular type of home. Rather than having to invest in the land around your living space, you can just purchase the living space alone and get more for your money. If you don’t feel like you can afford a traditional home in the Seattle area, or if you just don’t care about having property and don’t want to do yard work, condos are a perfect fit.
Of course, buying a condo in Seattle isn’t exactly about finding a discount. Many Seattle condos fall easily into the luxury category, and they often have price tags to match. While buying a condo might be more affordable than purchasing a single family home, don’t make the mistake of thinking that this transaction is going to be cheap.

Knowing Where to Look

If you would like to purchase a Seattle luxury condo, you are most likely going to be looking downtown. There are a few condo buildings littered throughout the rest of the city, but most of the options are clustered in the downtown area. This makes sense, of course, as the typical condo buyer is looking forward to being near the action and wants easy access to the heart of this thriving city.

Setting Your Budget

To purchase a luxury condo in Seattle, you will likely need around a million dollars in your budget – and perhaps quite a bit more. Checking the listings in the city will show you that many properties are listed in the 800K – 1.2M range, but it is not uncommon to find units for more than two million (and beyond). As you would expect, the biggest determining factors when it comes to prices are size, location, view, and amenities.

Speaking of Amenities

One of the great things about choosing a condo over a single family home is the many amenities that you will be able to enjoy. The specific amenities you have access to will depend on your chosen building, but some possibilities are as follows –

• A pool (indoor or outdoor)
• Exercise room
• Party room (which can often be reserved for events)
• Patio for outdoor space
• Concierge
• Secure parking

As you would expect, these things do not come free. On a month to month basis, you may have to pay in excess of $1,000 in HOA dues to live in the building. That is a steep price to be sure, but it does offer you some rather enjoyable features and the ability to live in the heart of one of the great cities in the country.
