About Northwood
Northwood is a part of what is known as Irvine Ranch in north Irvine, within zip code 92620. Built in the 1970’s, Northwood was one of the first villages designed in Irvine. Also one of the largest master planned communities, these homes for sale in Irvine are clustered into 69 different home tracts and include attached condos and town homes as well as over 5,000 detached single family homes.
The community is located north of the 5 Freeway bordered by Jeffrey Road, Culver Drive and Portola Parkway.Not all of the tracts within Northwood are governed by an HOA. Adjacent community Northwood Point is under HOA as well as other assigned home tracts.

Parks in Northwood
The community of Northwood has 12 separate parks for a total of 161 acres of recreational space. The central community park and by far most exciting is the Northwood Community Park or Castle Park Irvine. It earned its nickname because of the actual cinder block castle featured at the playground tot lot. There are tunnels to sneak though, a bridge to cross and a spiral slide of course! The park also includes several sports fields, picnic area with BBQs, 2 lighted tennis courts and plenty of parking.

Shopping in Northwood
Northwood Town Center
4800 Irvine Blvd, Irvine, CA 92620
Northwood Town Center is the central shopping plaza for the community. The center has several banks, grocery store, various restaurants, a gym and an animal hospital. Located at the intersection of Yale Avenue and Irvine Boulevard, Northwood Town Center is adjacent to Alderwood Park near the Venta Spur Trail.
Trabuco Plaza

Located at cross streets Yale Avenue and Trabuco Road, the Trabuco Plaza is located at the southern end of the Northwood community. Business park and retail center, the Trabuco Plaza also includes the Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church.
While Northwood Town Center and Trabuco Plaza are the two largest centralized shopping centers in the community there are also several restaurants, shops and business in the surrounding areas. Just down Irvine Boulevard is the Market Place, a sprawling strip mall encompassing 120 different retail stores, eateries and entertainment facilities.
